Fort Campbell App

App Development
Project Overview
This was a two semester group project. We were assigned a client from outside the university. My team's client was the 101st Unit of Fort Campbell. The problem was that they wanted an easier way to keep their young recruits informed and decided that an app would accomplish this. My team was responsible for the in-app messaging feature.

The Process

Understanding the User

The first step in this project was to understand more about our client and potential users. Before meeting with the client our team did extensive user research with the information we did know. We knew our client was the 101st Airborne Unit at Fort Campbell, and this group has a long history. We put together all the information we had and all the information we needed before our meeting. We put together this 2.5D sketch that allows us to see the information we had and the information we didn't have.

Story Mapping for MVP

After meeting with the client, we did story mapping to layout what the MVP would become at the very end of our project. This is a tool helped us set clear expectations with our client and allowed us to become familiar with any issues that could arise before development even began.

Low Fidelity Prototype

High Fidelity Prototype made in AdobeXD

After creating the low fidelity prototype, we took feedback from a peer heuristic evaluation and created the high fidelity prototype seen here. The full interactive version of this prototype can be seen in AdobeXD using the link below.
